David J. Schofield, CFA

David Schofield is a Managing Director at Hall Capital Partners LLC and Director of Portfolio Management for Institutions. He is also a member of the firm's Investment Review Committee.
Mr. Schofield joined the firm in early 2013 following more than 20 years in the investment management industry. Prior to joining the firm, he spent six years at Brown University’s Investment Office in Providence, RI, most recently as acting Co-Chief Investment Officer. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Commonfund where he was responsible for manager selection, portfolio construction, and performance for multiple equity funds. Earlier in his career, Mr. Schofield was a Director at Montgomery Asset Management where he managed the Portfolio Research Group, served on the Investment Oversight Committee, and was the product manager for the international/global equity team. He has also held investment roles at Frank Russell and Dodge & Cox. Mr. Schofield began his investment career at Duff & Phelps Investment Research as a securities analyst.
Mr. Schofield serves on the Investment Committee of the De LaSalle Institute in Napa, CA. He graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Political Science and earned an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a member of the Boston and Providence Societies of Security Analysts and the CFA Institute, and is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
